A machine vice allows a safe and precise adjustment of workpieces on machine tools. Depending on the machine being used, we are talking either about a drilling machine or a milling machine vice. Firmly mounted on the machine table, machine vices allow quick workpiece changes. They are available in manual, pneumatic or hydraulic versions and can also be pivoted and rotated. An important criteria of a vise is its clamping jaws. These can be switched and adjusted. A stable body supports the fixed clamping jaw. The movable clamping jaw travels along tracks, which is moved using a threaded spindle. On machine vises, this is a trapezoidal screw.
