Your tasks will include
You independently manage your own sales projects and make contact with possible sellers of used machinery.

These are your tasks
As a technical and disciplinary manager for a team of 8 employees, you will develop skills, provide advice and support and conduct regular feedback and target discussions
As an export control officer, you will work with the team to check and organise the admissibility of planned exports in terms of foreign trade law
You and your team are responsible for the tariff classification and categorisation of various, constantly changing trade goods; mainly goods in chapters 72 to 90
You are also responsible for applying for licences, monitoring deadlines and obligations, as well as documenting foreign trade law inspection steps
You are in close contact with the national authorities responsible for customs and export control (e.g. in Germany, Spain, the UK and Switzerland)
As the person responsible for customs, you provide company-wide support on issues relating to customs law and customs clearance and are the contact for service providers
You report directly to the person responsible for exports (managing director)

This is what you can expect
As the Financial Controller, you will report to the Head of Finance and Controlling of Surplex, and you will support her in a vital role managing accounting, financial reporting and compliance across Surplex’s Continental Europe Region operations. This position requires a good experienced accountant with strong financial technical skills, preferable with experience in managing a small team. If you have worked for a Big 4 accounting firm you have a pre (If not, please don’t hesitate to apply anyway).
You will need to ensure compliance with group accounting and reporting principles, as well as local GAAP for statutory reporting purposes.As a PE-backed, rapidly growing international technology platform, TBAuctions encourages a growth mindset among its employees. You will play a significant role in this phase, requiring a thorough, qualitative, and collaborative approach.
Your tasks will include
Prepare and present accurate financial statements on a timely basis.
Ensure timely and precise month-end and year-end closing processes using a comprehensive Financial Control checklist, and submit financial results on Lucanet for group reporting purposes.
Provide insights into financial performance on an ad-hoc basis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
Collaborate with TBAuctions Group Finance team to align financial processes and reporting standards throughout the integration.
Ensure compliance with German and other countries statutory requirements, EU tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
Coordinate with external auditors and effectively manage the audit process.
Manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support the company’s financial health.
Identify and implement enhancements in financial systems, reporting tools, and overall operational efficiency.
That’s what we are expecting of you
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field. Or an apprenticeship as Tax- or bank Clerk, or a related field ; RA/CA/CPA qualification is an advantage.
Minimum of 6 years in financial control, ideally with experience at a Big 4 firm, and a background in financial operations within multinational or matrix organizations. Experience in e-commerce, industrial machinery, or auction sectors is advantageous. Familiarity with EU tax and regulatory environments and experience in consolidating financials, particularly in an international context, are also preferred.
Fluency in German and English is essential, with proficiency in additional European languages being a plus, given our operations in over 15 countries across Central, Southern, and Eastern Europe.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills are required.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial. You should be a self-starter who takes ownership of tasks, is eager to learn, and can effectively collaborate with international colleagues from diverse backgrounds. You should also possess the ability to identify financial trends, classifications, and deviations from standard group practices across different countries.

Developing and maintaining microservices for various auctioning domains, including:
Category and inventory management: Ensuring efficient handling of product categories and inventory

Collection and Viewing

Exciting and varied tasks await you with us. You will experience something new every day, and not just through your work in the field, because in the auction business you will deal with a wide variety of customers, projects and assets.
If you are a generalist with a broad range of expertise, you've come to the right place. You will be part of a highly motivated sales team and specialise in your area, which is based on your place of residence. After extensive theoretical and practical training, you will be given a company car and will be responsible for acquiring lucrative and exciting projects at the customer's location and from your home office.
These are your tasks
Based on the GTM strategy, you will plan your sales activities and use modern tools to achieve your goals efficiently.
Together with the New Business team, you will develop a clear plan to successfully acquire new customers.
You will use active cold calling to convince them of our offers over the phone. You will arrange appointments on site and acquire new business customers.
You will inspire customers with creative and sustainable solutions and meet their individual needs.
By analysing market and customer data, you will always stay informed about current developments and opportunities.
You stay in personal contact with your local customers and keep an eye on all developments in your region.
With an open ear for your customers, you discuss and manage their expectations in a professional and solution-orientated manner.
Thanks to close cooperation with the New Business team and the SSR, you ensure smooth processing and the best results.
What we want from you
You have relevant professional experience as a sales technician or in sales in general.
You also have relevant training or a Bachelor's degree with a sales or technical background.
You communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing; additional knowledge of a European language is an advantage for you.
With your strong organisational skills and experience in process optimisation, you plan and structure your tasks efficiently and always maintain an overview.
With your affinity for IT, you handle various IT systems confidently and competently in order to support your work in the best possible way.
You think strategically, plan for the long term, recognise trends early on and align your actions accordingly.
With your strong customer focus, you do everything you can to ensure customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
What happens next
As soon as we have received your application, it will be checked by a team consisting of the responsible HR manager Alex and the hiring managers to ensure that it matches our requirements profile.
If we come to a positive conclusion with your application, we will invite you to a (video) interview in the next step, during which you will be given an overview of Surplex and the position. We will then discuss a potential second online interview.
In the final step, you will come to our office, receive a short guided tour and have a final interview. If both parties leave with positive feelings, you will sign your employment contract on the spot.
